- I just wish someone had put that out months ago, before I was committed to XPages. Lotus may treat the old way as dead, but they have provided no reasonable path forward. What serious development shop doesn't have tons of legacy code they'd like to keep, and maybe change out piecemeal? It's essentially total lack of legacy integration alone is enough reason to avoid XPages like anthrax, for application migration.
- For totally new work? (shrug) Could be the cat's meow everyone says it is. Haven't done that, but I can say the viewPanel control is an utterly useless load of rubbish that doesn't belong on any web page. True, it's simple to use, but its presentation is about as inflexible as rebar, and the results are about as pretty as rebar.
- I drank the Kool-Aid. Avoid XPages for legacy application migration. You will not be sorry.
Hope this helps...
